Krishna
Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) has released an official
notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Associate Professor in Sociology.
Interested
candidates are required to submit their applications online within the
stipulated timeline, followed by submission of hard copies as prescribed by the
University.
Total Number of Vacancies
A total of 01 post of Associate Professor in Sociology
has been notified under this recruitment drive.
The post is
reserved for the OBC
category.
Pay Scale
The selected
candidate will be placed in the pay scale of ₹1,31,400 to ₹2,17,100 under Academic Level 13A of UGC,
along with other admissible benefits as per University and UGC norms.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must
possess a Ph.D. degree
in relevant/allied subjects. Candidates should also have a Master’s Degree with at least 55%
marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.
In addition,
candidates must have a minimum
of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in a
University, College, or Accredited Research Institution equivalent to the level
of Assistant Professor. Applicants should have at least seven publications in peer-reviewed or
UGC-listed journals and a minimum research score of 75.
Desirable
qualifications include a degree
or diploma in distance education or experience in distance education
institutions, adequate computer
knowledge, and proficiency
in Assamese and English languages.
The age limit will be governed by UGC
regulations.
Application Fee
Candidates are required
to pay an application
fee of ₹1,000.
The fee must be paid online
through the payment gateway available on the University’s
application portal. Proof of payment must be enclosed with the hard copy of the
application.

The last date for submission of online
application is 25
March 2026.
The last date for
receipt of hard copy of the application is 27 March 2026.

Candidates must

through the official University website at www.kkhsou.in on or before the closing
date.
After online
submission, candidates are required to send three sets of photocopies of the application along with
three sets of supporting documents to the Office of the Registrar, Krishna Kanta
Handiqui State Open University, NH-37, Resham Nagar, Khanapara, Guwahati –
781022.
The envelope
should be clearly superscribed with “Application
for the Post of Associate Professor in Sociology”.
Selection Process
Only shortlisted candidates
will be called for interview. Candidates will have to appear for the interview
at their own cost.
Those already in service must apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC)
from the competent authority.
The University
reserves the right to fill or not fill the post and to cancel the advertisement
without assigning any reason.
