PNRD Assam Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 1508 Posts

The Commissioner, Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam has released an official recruitment advertisement inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 1508 contractual vacancies under flagship programmes such as MGNREGA, PMAY-G, and Finance Commission Grants.

Interested candidates who fulfil the required educational qualification, age limit, and other eligibility conditions may apply online within the prescribed dates. There is no application fee for any category.


Important Dates

The online application process will start from 09:00 AM on 22 February 2026 and will remain active till 11:59 PM on 22 March 2026. Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted.


Total Vacancies

A total of 1508 contractual posts will be filled under various programmes of the Panchayat & Rural Development Department, Assam. These posts are co-terminus with the tenure of the respective flagship programmes, and no request for continuation of service beyond the programme period will be entertained.


Name of Posts & Monthly Remuneration

The recruitment is being conducted for the following positions:

Accredited Engineer (MGNREGA – GP)

Total Posts: 291
Monthly Remuneration: ₹18,000
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years
Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering along with a Diploma in Computer Application. Candidates should be well-versed in mobile applications.

Gram Rozgar Sahayak (MGNREGA – GP)

Total Posts: 464
Monthly Remuneration: ₹15,000
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks. Distance education degrees approved by DEC/UGC/AICTE are valid. A minimum six-month Diploma in Computer Application is mandatory. Knowledge of mobile applications is required.

Computer Assistant (MGNREGA – GP)

Total Posts: 291
Monthly Remuneration: ₹15,000
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. Distance education degrees approved by DEC/UGC/AICTE are valid. Must possess a minimum six-month Diploma in Computer Application and be familiar with mobile applications.

Gram Panchayat Coordinator (PMAY-G / Finance Commission – GP)

Total Posts: 462
Monthly Remuneration: ₹15,000
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. Distance education degrees approved by DEC/UGC/AICTE are valid. Must possess a minimum six-month Diploma in Computer Application and be well-versed in mobile applications.


Language Requirement

Candidates should have good working knowledge of Assamese, English, and Hindi, as communication with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India is required.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 9 of the Constitution of India.

Age Relaxation

SC/ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years, OBC/MOBC candidates 3 years, and Persons with Disabilities up to 10 years.


How to Apply Online

Eligible candidates must apply only through online mode by visiting the official website https://www.rural.assam.gov.in. No offline or other modes of application will be accepted.

Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of passport-size photograph, signature, age proof, ID proof, educational certificates, computer proficiency certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), and disability certificate (if applicable) as per the specifications mentioned in the official advertisement.

After successful submission, candidates should download and keep a copy of the application slip and Application ID for future reference.


Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through a written examination followed by a viva-voce.

The written test will be OMR-based and carry 75 marks with a duration of 2 hours. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. Questions will cover domain knowledge, computer proficiency, reasoning and aptitude, history and culture of Assam and India, and general knowledge. For Accredited Engineer posts, technical questions related to Civil Engineering will be included.

Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be called for a Viva-Voce of 25 marks. Final merit lists will be prepared category-wise. A waiting list will also be maintained and will remain valid for one year from the date of result publication.


Admit Card & Examination Centre

Admit cards will be issued online and can be downloaded from the official website using the Application ID. The date, time, and venue of the written test will be communicated through SMS and email. Examination centres will be allotted based on the candidate’s permanent address.


Important Instructions

The engagement is purely contractual and subject to renewal based on performance and departmental requirement. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. Submission of false information or fake documents will result in rejection and legal action as per rules.
