The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens to fill a variety of vacancies. Below are the detailed instructions and guidelines for interested applicants:

1. Available Positions and Pay Scales:

i) English Reporter Grade-II

a) Scale of Pay: ₹22,000 - ₹97,000 with Grade Pay of ₹9,400 per month (Pay Band-3) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

ii) Stenographer Grade-II (E)

a) Scale of Pay: ₹22,000 - ₹97,000 with Grade Pay of ₹9,400 per month (Pay Band-3) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

iii) Language Reporter Grade-II

a) Scale of Pay: ₹22,000 - ₹97,000 with Grade Pay of ₹9,400 per month (Pay Band-3) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

iv) L.D. Assistant

a) Scale of Pay: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 with Grade Pay of ₹8,700 per month (Pay Band-2) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

v) Translator

a) Scale of Pay: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 with Grade Pay of ₹8,700 per month (Pay Band-2) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

vi) Typist

a) Scale of Pay: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 with Grade Pay of ₹6,200 per month (Pay Band-2) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 3 posts

 

vii) Typist (Bodo Language Cell)

a) Scale of Pay: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 with Grade Pay of ₹6,200 per month (Pay Band-2) along with other admissible allowances.

b) Vacancies: 1 post

 

2. Eligibility Criteria:

i) English Reporter Grade-II

a) Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% for SC/ST(P), and 40% for ST(H) from a recognized University.

b) Stenography Skills: Must have a Certificate in Stenography with a speed of 120 words per minute from an ITI of Assam or any other institute recognised by Govt. of Assam/Govt. of Assam.

c) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute.

 

ii) Stenographer Grade-II (English)

a) Educational Qualification: Same as English Reporter Grade-II.

b) Stenography Skills: Must have a Certificate in Stenography with a speed of 120 words per minute from an ITI of Assam or any other institute recognised by Govt. of Assam/Govt. of Assam.

c) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute.

 

iii) Language Reporter Grade-II

a) Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% for SC/ST(P), and 40% for ST(H) from a recognized University.

b) Stenography Skills: Must have a Certificate in Assamese Stenography with a speed of 100 words per minute from a recognized institute by the Govt. of Assam.

c) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute.

d) Additional Requirement: DTP in Assamese Language Certificate must be enclosed.

 

iv) L.D. Assistant

a) Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% for SC/ST(P), and 40% for ST(H) from a recognized University.

b) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute, with proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the Internet.

 

v) Translator

a) Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% for SC/ST(P), and 40% for ST(H) from a recognized University.

b) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute, with proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the Internet.

 

vi) Typist

a) Educational Qualification: H.S. or equivalent passed in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 45% marks for General and 40% for ST(H) from any recognized Council/Board of India.

b) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute.

c) Additional Requirement: Must have excellent knowledge of DTP in both English and Assamese languages. DTP Certificates in both languages must be enclosed.

 

vii) Typist (Bodo Language Cell)

a) Educational Qualification: H.S. or equivalent passed in Bodo Language with a minimum of 40% marks from any recognized Council/Board of India.

b) Computer Proficiency: A minimum 6-months Diploma/Certificate in Computer proficiency/application from a recognized institute.

c) Additional Requirement: DTP in Bodo Language Certificate must be enclosed.

 

3. Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 21 years for all posts.

Maximum Age: 40 years for all posts.

Relaxation:

a) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates.

b) By 5 years for SC/ST(P) & ST(H) candidates.

Age Calculation: Based on the date of birth mentioned in the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate from a recognized Central/State Board/Council.

 

4. Mode of Selection:

Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualifications.

Selection Tests:

a) English Reporter Grade-II / Stenographer Grade-II (English) / Language Reporter Grade-II: Speed Test (Dictation and Transcription) based on the prescribed speed.

b) L.D. Assistant: Written Examination (covering Essay Writing, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning & Aptitude, Mathematics) followed by a Computer Practical Test.

c) Translator: Written Examination (covering English to Assamese and vice-versa Translation, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Essay Writing) followed by a Computer Practical Test.

d) Typist: Computer Practical Test (Typing passages in English and Assamese).

e) Typist (Bodo Language Cell): Computer Practical Test (Typing passage in Bodo Language).

 

5. How to Apply:

Online Submission: Applications must be submitted online through the official website: www.assambidhansabha.org.

Required Documents:

a) Age proof certificate (Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or equivalent).

b) Scanned copy of recent colour photograph.

c) Certificates/Mark sheets of the required qualifications.

d) Caste Certificate (if applicable) issued by a competent authority.

e) CGPA Conversion Formula of the respective universities.

f) NOC from the Head of the Department (if applying through proper channel).

Application Window:

a) Start Date: 28th October 2024, 10:00 AM.

b) End Date: 18th November 2024, 5:00 PM.

 

6. Important Notes:

The list of eligible and shortlisted candidates for Speed Test, Written Test, and Computer Practical Test will be available on the official website. No separate call letters will be issued.

Canvassing directly or indirectly will lead to disqualification.

Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat reserves the right to cancel or reject any candidature without prior notice.

No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the tests.

Appointments will be subject to the Rules of the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
